SKIING FROM YOUR DOORSTEP

One ski area, two mountains.

Since winter 2018/19, Schöneben and the Haideralm have been linked by their own connecting lift to form one ski area: Schöneben-Haideralm. The St. Valentin–Haideralm gondola starts just 250 metres from the apartment. Skis and boots spend the night in the in-house ski room, and thanks to the boot warmer you slip into warm, dry boots in the morning.

With 65 kilometres of slopes and 15 easy, intermediate and difficult runs up to 2,350 metres, everyone finds their pace. There is also a multi-award-winning snowpark and Schöni's Kinderland with magic carpets for the little ones.

The resort is particularly proud of its slope grooming: it has won several awards for its excellently prepared slopes, including the International Slope Quality Seal in Gold several times and test winner in the slope preparation category at Skiresort.

SLOPES WITH A VIEW

Runs with a view of the lake.

From the Haideralm slopes you look down on Lake Haidersee and far across the upper Vinschgau – on clear days all the way to the Ortler.

SNOWPARK · FUNLINE · ACTIONCROSS

Freestyle and action on the mountain.

In the middle of the ski area, between the Jochbahn and Fraitenbahn lifts, lies one of the best snowparks in Europe: five stars from the Skiresort test portal and gold in the European Skiarea Test. There is also one of Italy's largest funslopes, an actioncross and a timed race course.

SNOWPARK

From your first jump to the pro line

The park is divided into three areas: beginner, medium and pro. On the medium line you'll find three kickers between 3 and 6 metres, butter boxes, rails and an 8-metre rainbow tube. The highlight is a kicker of over 12 metres.

FUNLINE

Curves, waves & spirals

Banked turns, waves and snow spirals run through the whole area – great fun for children and adults alike, no freestyle experience needed.

ACTIONCROSS

Up to five at the start

Between the Jochbahn and Höllental, up to five riders start side by side. Over waves, jumps and banked turns you race each other to the finish.

TIMING

Who sets the best time?

On a marked slalom course with automatic timing you see at the finish how fast you were – real race feeling for the whole family.

CROSS-COUNTRY SKIING

Groomed trails around the lakes.

Around Lake Reschen and Lake Haidersee there are some 45 kilometres of groomed cross-country trails, through open larch forests and across wide, sunny fields. On the Three-Country Trail you even glide across the border to Nauders.

Especially snow-sure is the Weißkugel trail in the Langtaufers valley at around 1,900 metres.

WINTER HIKING

Quiet paths through the snow.

The snow-covered meadows by the larch forest begin right behind the house. If you want to go higher, hike or snowshoe up a dedicated path away from the slopes from St. Valentin to the Haideralm: about 700 metres of ascent, roughly two hours.

Ski tourers use this ascent too. At the top, the Haideralm mountain restaurant awaits with its large sun terrace.

TOBOGGANING

Swooping down to the valley.

For families and anyone who likes it relaxed yet fast: the Reschen Pass holiday region has a natural toboggan run of about three kilometres.

SNOWKITING

When the lake becomes a snowfield.

When Lake Reschen is frozen and covered in snow, the whole surface becomes a playground for snowkiters – with plenty of space and the same reliable wind as in summer.

The kite schools in Graun also offer snowkite courses for beginners and advanced riders in winter.

ICE SAILING

On blades across Lake Reschen.

A spectacle you don't see often: on narrow blades, ice sailors glide across the ice of Lake Reschen at astonishing speed. It's worth watching from the shore too, with the church tower in the background.

WELLNESS AFTER A DAY ON THE SLOPES

Dive in and warm up.

Just ten minutes away by car, in Graun right on Lake Reschen, is the Curunes leisure pool. The indoor pool has a whirlpool, a big slide and its own children's area.

The sauna area has two Finnish saunas, a bio sauna, an infrared sauna and a steam bath, plus regular infusion sessions. From the relaxation room you look out over Lake Reschen. The restaurant, pizzeria and bar are also open without a pool ticket.
